Real estate, the way it should be.
Placestore was built because we got tired of paying brokers ₹50,000 to unlock a phone number. Buying, renting, or selling a home is one of the biggest decisions of your life — it deserves a platform that works for you, not for middlemen.
Our story
The broker problem is real.
We built the fix.
In India, every property transaction carries an invisible tax: the broker's commission. It ranges from 1% to 2% of the deal value on each side — meaning a ₹1 crore flat costs ₹2 lakhs in broker fees before you even get the keys. For rentals, it's typically one month's rent just to visit an apartment.
The frustrating part? Most of that money goes toward unlocking a phone number that was always publicly available. The agent adds no value to the transaction — they add friction, delay, and cost.
Placestore was founded with a single thesis: if you can see it on a map, you should be able to contact the owner directly. No token, no commission, no middleman. The platform handles privacy protection for the seller (so they don't get spammed), identity trust for the buyer (so they know who they're talking to), and a beautiful, fast map experience for both sides.
We're a small team building something we wish existed when we were searching for our own homes. Every feature ships with that question in mind: does this make the transaction more direct, more transparent, more fair?
What we stand for
Six principles. Zero compromise.
Radical transparency
Every listing shows the real owner, real price, and real location — no hidden fees, no inflated quotes, no bait-and-switch tactics.
Privacy by design
Owners can hide their exact spot on public maps, and every owner's phone number stays masked until a signed-in buyer taps 'Show contact' — protecting you from cold calls and property stalkers.
Speed over friction
Map-first discovery means you see what's near you in seconds — not after filling out a five-step form or talking to an agent first.
India-first architecture
Built for Indian address formats, Indian price conventions (lakhs and crores), Indian property types (BHK, PG, commercial plots), and Indian regulations (RERA, IT Act).
Fair for all sides
Sellers don't pay commissions. Buyers don't pay search fees. Tenants don't pay token advances to see a property. The market finally works for people, not intermediaries.
Community over scale
We'd rather have 1,000 real listings than 10,000 ghost listings inflated to drive agency enquiries. Quality and trust beat raw numbers every time.
